Our Captain
Richard has been sailing since childhood and has had a profound love and respect for the ocean.
A native Cornishman, Richard was brought up in Falmouth where he worked on Superyachts at Pendennis Shipyard. He therefore has an extensive knowledge of marine engineering to add to his sailing CV.
From Pendennis, Richard moved on to captaining super-yachts in the Mediterranean and Indian Oceans. Once on dry land, Richard embarked on an entrepreneurial career based on his engineering background, however he continued his love of the sea, keeping several sailing yachts in the Med. Richard was also one of the youngest UK national race officers and continues to run regattas with the Royal Thames Yacht Club and the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club.
Recently Richard and his wife Alexandra have been on multiple trans-Atlantic crossings as delivery
crew and have been skippering sailing yachts in the Mediterranean.
Richard is a highly qualified sailor, with a Yachtmaster Ocean, STCW, Regional Race Officer and PADI Open Water diving certificates.
Our First Mate
Alexandra is an avid sailor, has a love of adventure and is a fantastic hostess. With her multi-talented approach, she can turn her hand to most things and always has the guests’ best experience in mind. She honed many of her skills working as a global Management Consultant in London before retraining as an interior designer. After meeting her prince charming she gave up the London life for one on the sea.
Alexandra has crossed the Atlantic twice and has several long distance deliveries under her belt. She has been sailing crew in the Mediterranean for the past four years.
Having grown up sailing on Cape Cod in the United States, Alexandra has added to her love of the sea with the qualifications to ensure that she is a capable second in command. She has a commercially endorsed Day Skipper qualification, STCW, PADI Open Water and her Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene (Catering) certificate.
